It is a default whenever you login a new device to ensure the safety for your account.

If you recognize any strange actions on your account, even you haven’t logged in to your account but there are OTP(s) sent to your email, you can immediately call Timo Care on 1800 6788 to inform us of the problem to get further assistance.

You can Reset your Password or Retrieve your Username right in the Timo app. Follow these steps:

  • Step 1: On the login screen, tap Cannot login.
  • Step 2: Choose Reset Password or Retrieve Username.
  • Step 3: Enter your registered information: ID/Passport and Email address, then hit Submit.
  • Step 4: Check your email and click on the link to reset your Password/retrieve your Username and follow the steps to create a new password/get your username.

OTP is a one-time 4-digit secure code, used to verify banking transactions/online transactions. OTP is sent to the customers via SMS to the registered phone number while they are making transactions to ensure the transaction is authenticated.

iOTP (instant OTP) works just like SMS OTP, only the 4-digit secure code is created in the Timo app so you can make transactions even when you are overseas.

With iOTP you can:

  • Approve transactions quicker.
  • Easily make transfers while overseas.
  • Use it on as many trusted devices as you want.

OTP or iOTP will be sent to you for the following types of transactions:

  • Login.
  • To verify a banking transaction.
  • When logging into a new device.
  • When unlocking cards or E-commerce payments.

Login to the Timo app, lock your card and change your password immediately! Then you should call Timo Care on 1800 6788 to inform us of the problem and get further assistance.

Timo or Viet Capital Bank will NEVER ask you to provide any sensitive information like your Username, Password, OTP or iOTP codes. If you receive such calls, DO NOT provide the caller with any details even if the caller claims they are calling from Timo. These are fraudsters trying to hack your account.

Do not click any strange link to ensure security. You could pay for online purchases via popular and trusted gateways or send money to the seller’s account via internet banking/mobile banking/bank branches.

All you need to do is log into your Timo account on a new device or via the Web App from to log yourself out of your Timo account on your lost device.
