1. 3. With the 100.000 VND Shopee e-voucher from VinaCapital, VinaCapital will send an email confirmation to the registered email address within 15 (fifteen) days from 08th February 2019.
– To get the e-voucher, customers need to sign in to their Timo account via my.timo.vn, access the Reward section and click on “Get your voucher now”. The e-voucher list can be amended without any prior notice.
– The e-voucher link will be published on the Reward section on my.timo.vn until the end of 13th February 2019. After this date, the e-voucher link will not be available on the Reward section anymore and customers will not be able to get their e-voucher.
Timo staff are entitled to request customers to sign and provide their personal details in order to confirm that they have received the e-voucher.
(iv) Resolving complaints:
– For complaints related to the delivery of e-vouchers, complaints shall be sent from the customer’s registered email address to care@timo.vn with all related information and images.
– For complaints arising from the usage of e-vouchers, complaints shall be sent directly to Timo’s gift providers as follows:

– Complaints need to be sent within 10 working days after the date that the customer receives the email confirmation regarding the e-voucher from Timo. Any complaint sent after this period of time will not be resolved.

– Voucher codes are selected randomly from Timo’s system.
– Voucher codes for WeFit and Shopee are available to be claimed and used until the end of 13th February 2019.
– Shopee voucher codes from VinaCapital are available to be claimed and used until the end of 31st March 2019.

(vi) Rewards will not given in these below cases:
– In case the customer refuses the reward, the rewards will be canceled.

– Customers do not coordinate, work and comply with the procedures and process of giving rewards in accordance with the regulations of the Organizing Committee.
– Due to the limited rewards, rewards are given to first-come-first-served customers. If the Organizing Committee is out of rewards, the following customers will not receive these gifts from Timo. For additional gifts from VinaCapital, there are specifc numbers of limited rewards as shown below:

5. Other regulations:

For those who regularly use inter-bank transfers, the main question is always “How long will it take for the other party to receive the money?”.
To answer this, let’s get familiar with the various methods of money transfers that exist and which ones are the fastest.

Method 1: Transferring within the same bank

Intra-bank transfers are very fast, usually immediately. With Timo, you just need to enter 1 piece of the receivers information like the account number / card number / or even their email to find their account and transfer money instantly.



 

Method 2: Transferring with an ATM/ Debit card number

This is not a well-known method of transferring funds, but it is by far the fastest and most efficient way to transfer money within Vietnam today. It’s called Express transfer or Fast transfer and here’s how it works:

  • Enter the card number (number printed on the card) in the beneficiary account number field
  • This piece of Information is able to identify the recipient accurately
  • The recipient will receive the money instantly 24/7
  • Applicable for transfers across 43+ domestic banks on the NAPAS network like Vietcombank, ACB, Exim, OCB, Dong A, Agribank, TECHCOM, VIB, Tien Phong Bank, Vietinbank, …

Because it’s such an efficient method, naturally other banks charge customers anywhere from VND 9,900 upwards per transaction. But at Timo, this service is entirely fee free, no matter how many times you move money.

Method 3: Transfer to another bank using an account number

There are two types of transfers under this method.
A. Fast transfer
With this type of transfer, the recipient will receive the money instantly 24/7.  The sender just needs to input the account number of the Beneficiary and the Beneficiary Bank. The rest of the information will be populated automatically.
B. Normal Transfer
This is the most common method of bank transfers and has been in use from time immemorial. The uncertainty of this type of transfer though, has left many bewildered. Some common limitations are:

  • The requested information must be accurate and complete. If even 1 piece of information is incorrect, that’s enough to deny the transaction from going through.
  • If all information is correctly filled out, the next dilemma is knowing exactly when the recipient will receive the money.
  • The exact time the money will hit the recipient’s account largely depends on the working hours of the interbank transfer system of the State Bank of Vietnam (CITAD). The working hours are Mon to Fri – 8:30 AM to 3 PM..
  • It normally takes 1 working day to transfer funds, but sometimes this could be longer.
  • If you transfer in the morning of the working day with the correct beneficiary information, the beneficiary will receive the funds within that day. If the money still doesn’t hit the receiver’s account, you need to cross check the beneficiary’s information again.
  • If you transfer in the afternoon or near closing time with the correct beneficiary information, your transfer might be credited within the day or you may need to wait till the next working day.
  • The process to reverse a transaction or refund the transaction in case of providing incorrect information will depend on the regulation of the beneficiary bank, but it normally takes around 1-2 working day(s).

 
This method has been applied extensively across all banks and a service charge of about 3000-11000 VND is generally incurred. But at Timo this is completely Fee Free. The 2 key things to remember when using this method of bank transfers are:

  • Input the recipients banking information correctly
  • Always transfer money within the bank’s business hours (from 8 am to 3 pm daily / Monday – Friday. Avoid holidays and weekends)

  1. Valid passport and visa(s) (if needed) – To avoid your trip being delayed on account of your passport having expired or obtaining a visa(s) in time, plan your passport and visa(s) application/renewal appropriately prior to the starting date of your trip.
  2. Loyalty member’s card(s) and frequent flyer card(s) of international brands (if any).
  3. Cash and credit cards – There are no rules that prohibit you from carrying cash when travelling overseas, but you might want to consider the amount of cash you bring with you as carrying too much cash around also means it would take additional efforts to keep it safe. If you have a credit card, call up your bank and let them know that you are travelling to avoid them locking your card when seeing unusual transactions.

After preparing all the above documents and putting them in your travel documents folder, make sure to email electronic copies of all these documents to your own email address. By doing this, even if any of them is missing/lost, you can still access them online.

Banks usually provide a variety of cards, such as: debit cards, credit cards, point cards, prepaid cards, refund cards, etc. Each card has its own set of functions that would suit different types of demand.
The most common card types are known to be debit cards and credit cards. How can you distinguish between the two?

Debit Card  

Debit card is one of the most basic products provided by banks. The set of functions of each debit card depends on the issuing bank, some functions of debit card include: bill payment, cash withdrawal, card top-up, phone top-up, savings, etc.
Debit cards are divided into 02 main types:

  • Domestic debit card: the area of card use is only available within the issuing country and usually free
  • International debit card (such as Mastercard Debit, Visa Debit, JCB Debit, etc.): the card can be used worldwide but will be subject to additional charges

Whether it is a domestic or international debit card, you can only spend as much as you deposit. Additionally, some banks require you to maintain a minimum balance of approximately 50.000 VND at all time (Timo does not have this requirement).
The process of applying for a debit card is easy and can be done quickly. To open a debit card, customers only need to over 18 years of age and hold a valid National ID/Passport and Valid Visa or Temporary Residence card (for foreigners).
In contrast with Timo making it free to issue a debit card to new customers as, some banks also charge card issuance fees.

Credit Card

Upon planning to open a credit card, you should consider that each bank has a different set of terms and conditions for credit cards.
Each issued credit card is subject to a credit limit depending on the approved application. Credit cards are mainly known to be settling either direct or online payments.
In contrast with debit cards, credit cards allow customers to spend money equivalent to their credit limit first before paying for it later. In other words, this means that, with your credit card, your issuing bank gives you a loan for you to use for the time being. You can enjoy a grace period up to 45 days without any interest once the loan is paid off totally. After 45 days of spending the loan without any interest rate, you will have to pay for the loan. After 45 days of spending the loan without any interest rate, you will have to pay for the loan. If the loan is overdue, the cardholder will be subject to an amount of interest rate calculated by the system and stated in the terms and conditions of the issuing bank.
Due to the confusion between the main functions of cards, some customers use their credit cards to withdraw cash at ATM machines. Although this is not prohibited by any bank, cash withdrawal from credit cards should be limited and avoided. In addition to high withdrawal fee (up to 4% of the total withdrawal amount), the interest charged for cash withdrawal from credit cards is also high.

There are also two types of credit cards: domestic credit cards and international credit cards. Although they have the same functions, their benefits and scope of use are different.

  • Domestic credit card: domestic credit cardholders can be entitled to privileges and special offers from local brands and shopping centres, and the scope of card use is also limited within the issuing country.
  • International credit card (such as Visa Credit, Master Credit, etc.): international credit cards can be used both locally and internationally. International credit cardholders can be entitled to privileges and special offers from brands and shopping centres worldwide. However, there will be a currency exchange fee ranging between 3% – 4% when the card is being used abroad.  

Conditions required for opening a credit card depend on the set of policies and requirements of each bank. While most banks require customers to verify their financial capability to prove that they can afford to pay for their credit limit, Timo does not have this requirement for our Mastercard’s customers.

The best and quickest way to get funds into your account without leaving your house is via a transfer from one account to another within Timo. This is instant! You can also transfer from another bank account into your Timo account and this usually takes about 24hrs.

Of course this is longer in terms of time, but is a common method of transferring money digitally.

And unlike transferring from one Timo account to another Timo account, with this method of Interbank transfers you will incur some costs from the other bank

Please ensure you provide / input the correct Timo account information including:

  1. Account Number: The 8 or 9 digit number below the Spend Account in the Timo app or on my.timo.vn
  2. Bank: VPBank
  3. Branch: Ho Chi Minh (applicable to all Timo accounts)

  1. Transfer funds from another bank account to your Timo Debit Card

For those banks that allow a transfer to a Debit card, you just need to provide the correct card number of your Timo Debit Card (the 16 Digit number printed on the card face). This is possible across the NAPAS network. However other banks will most probably charge you anywhere from 5,000 VND – 25,000 VND*

With Timo, you can transfer money to any other bank in Vietnam absolutely fee free.

*This cost will vary by bank. Please ensure you read your Bank’s fee structure for more information.

  1. Deposit funds directly at a VPBank teller

If you do not find any CDM near you and you are in need of funds in your account, then you can visit any VPBank Branch and deposit money over the counter at the Teller desk. This method is very simple and fee free in HCM and Hanoi cities, while in Da Nang and Can Tho the cost is only 0.3% of the total deposit value.

  • Card number including an array of 16 digits embossed on the card
  • Logo of MasterCard at the bottom right of the card. This helps to indicate that your Timo MasterCard is accepted worldwide for payments.
  • Secured chip with state-of-the-art information security and transactional technology

The back of Timo MasterCard

  • Contact information and Timo’s hotline
  • CVV code to be used for online transactions
  • Logo of NAPAS: Timo MasterCard can be used to withdraw money at ATM machines with the same logo of NAPAS

Important notes about your Timo MasterCard

To use your Timo MasterCard correctly and achieve your expected results, Timo MasterCard holders should comply with the regulations set by Timo. These regulations are fully disclosed under the Terms & Conditions for use of Timo MasterCard. Service fees and tariff are clearly publicized by Timo.   • For direct payments: Timo MasterCard holders only need to hand over their Timo MasterCard to settle their payment for the bill. Before settling the payment, you need to check all the information provided on the invoice/receipt, including the payment amount provided on the invoice, before handing over your card. After the payment has been made with your card, you will be asked to sign a payment confirmation and there will be a crosscheck between the signature provided on the payment confirmation and the signature on the back of the card as part of the credit card verification. You will then be given back your Timo MasterCard with a copy of the payment confirmation.
  • For online payments: Timo MasterCard holders can use their card to shop on any e-commerce/shopping website, such as: Amazon, Lazada, eBay, etc., accepting MasterCard as one of their payment methods. To settle your payment, you need to enter your card details as requested by the involved site, including the CVV code provided on the back of the card. Please note that, in contrast with Timo Debit Card or any other local ATM/Debit Card, your payment is completed and settled once you have input your CVV code and your card details are confirmed.
  • Cash withdrawal: You can use your Timo MasterCard to withdraw money at any ATM machine with the same logo of MasterCard. To withdraw money, you need to type in your PIN and follow the required instructions provided on the ATM machine screen. Before withdrawing cash, make sure to consider the credit limit of your Timo MasterCard and the fee for withdrawing from a MasterCard.
